    1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • July 15, 2016
    12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

This week-long camp will teach social skills and manners developmentally appropriate for ‘tweens. This group often becomes more cynical (perhaps even employing a bit of eye-rolling?) about learning manners, so historical and practical information about rules of etiquette are discussed. We also work hard to establish empathetic intention and cultural awareness behind each polite act. In this way, campers learn that manners often need to be modified in different situation and in different environments. They also understand that simply memorizing a rote list of etiquette rules does not “a gracious person make”. Topics will include greetings, making introductions, conversational skills, electronic etiquette, how to deal with the rudeness of others, table setting, dining manners, and more.   Tuition: $200
